Digital Customization to Reduce Waste in Fashion Design

We're all aware of the mass waste that the fashion industry produces. From pollution through mass production and transportation, to the sheer waste of unsold clothing that is ultimately thrown away..... it's actually quite sad when you think about it.

But one aspect you've probably never thought of is the designing of the clothing itself. Apparently 15% of all of the fashion industry waste comes from the design portion.

However, Synflux is developing a system of digitized couture that will minimize waste in fashion design.

Ultimately, machine-learning algorithms uses 3D scans to find the optimal clothing pattern to produce perfectly fitting clothing that reduces waste to zero. This will allow companies to design clothing in a much more efficient manner for the general public. Another option would be the ordering custom made clothing.

Synflux knows it is extremely difficult for their technology to be accepted instantly, however they hope to slowly begin making an impact to reduce waste. Hoping that in the future mass production will be minimized.

The best part for us as consumers however, is the fact that our clothes would fit us better!
