Discovering the NuDock

It is our pleasure to share with you our insights on tech startup. You can expect to learn about new technologies that will revolutionise your everyday life. But will all the projects we share with you succeed? We will present our pros and cons for each product and give our opinion on their future success. Let us know which ones you’re interested in and leave any comments you have in the section bellow!

Ever felt frustrated as you left your phone to charge and could not do as much as you wanted?

This project not only helps get rid of the limits a charger brings along, it opens up a whole new technological world pumped directly from your phone. Putting your phone to charge will now be a synonym of FREEDOM!

At first, all our team though WOW this product is awesome!! And that’s why we decided to present the NuDock as our first project featured on this blog.

However, having a deeper look at the specs offered and the alternatives on the market this is what we thought!

First of all, this product is not compatible with iPhones, for us, as iOS users, this is a huge drawback. However, it is still a great product and had we been Android users we would have been excited about this product launching to the market.

We believe this product is great for people travelling around for short stays and hence don’t want to carry a larger option such as a laptop or tablet. A businessman would typically be able to project any powerpoint presentation from his smartphone to a larger screen in a meeting room. In any office the NuDock would be a perfect fixed charger enabling the use of a smartphone as a second computer / interface and quickly transfer any file from or to the smartphone.

However, this device does not seem appropriate for heavy usage given the capacity of a standard smartphone. We consider it as a useful and innovative gadget rather than a revolutionising alternative to computers / tablets etc.

Looking for alternatives we actually found other amazing products offering the same kind of functionalities.  Have a look at the following product we found:

The Capsule II (approximately $450), offers a similar experience to the NuDock as it allows the user to get over the limits of its smartphone’s screen size. We hope such products won’t cannibalise the sale of NuDocks given the additional technology encompassed in the Nebula Capsule II.

At $70 dollars, the NuDock is an excellent adaptor/dongle, nevertheless a new version or a variation of the NuDock featuring the same technology as the Capsule II would create a truly versatile product.
